hey, shut up if you can’t get it to work, retarded.
it’s probably something YOU are doing wrong.
even if it’s the developers fault, well, pay some respect!
he’s doing it for free and I’m sure he would be kind enough to listen to you if you weren’t such a lousy bitch! =`*
September 10th, 2006 at 8:56 am

September 10th, 2006 at 6:42 pm
Well last time it didnt install the ip address to my psp, probably because of my bridged connection. This time it just used both of my ip’s from the bridged connection and added it to my psp!
Nice!
September 10th, 2006 at 7:06 pm
hey DickyDick1969, great work
fixed that issue i had before about not showing the last directory
also, i’m liking the installer, it works fine
maybe on the next release once other bugs have been ironed out you should work on a better aesthetic feel to the psp app and after that its pretty much done
and thanks for using your time to develop this app, its changed the way i use my psp
September 10th, 2006 at 7:07 pm
Hi, thanks for another great update.

Thanks!
September 10th, 2006 at 8:02 pm
Hello,
Again great work done, i used youre autom. installer and everything was installed correctly this time, But when i loaded the movie.avi file with the x button after a few seconds my screen turns black.!! and nothing happens then. Maybe it could be a router problem but i have opend the 3333 port on my router, so i dont know what to do next.
Keep up the good work. THNX Peter.
September 10th, 2006 at 8:32 pm

Sweet! the Picture support works great!!!
You should be able to view the next picture without haven to tag them before though, That would be great. (so if nothing tagged = tag all)
Also An expert section that would let you buffer 10 seconds or so to your memory card would make everything stream 100% I know you could corrupt the memory card doing this but with a expert section we would be able to make our own choice (something Sony would never let us do).
Do these fixes and I will give ya £30.00 UKP… (and yes I have donated in the past).
Keep up the great work, AWESOME job done so far!… Please let us buffer though…
September 11th, 2006 at 3:10 pm
@ rude dude
You already donated plenty.. it ’s on tha house
explain in mail what you mean with the expert option
September 11th, 2006 at 3:10 pm
Another great release, Dunno what these 1st couple of people are having problems with, this streams everything I throw at it… Keep up the great work.
As RuDe DuDe said, Maybe the ability to Tag a Directory, I usually have all my pictures in a seperate directory, would that be easier to program ?
This is my favourite piece of Homebrew, no longer have to convert the movies to PMP to watch them.
Thanks… what other plans do you have ?
Cheers
September 11th, 2006 at 5:18 pm
Expert option: so noobs dont crap up the settings. i think. hehe.
Anyway I know this is made for 1.5FW, but i just wanted to say that i cannot get it to work on the new tiif exploit using 2.6psp with ne eLoader.
As in previous version i could do allot more, but was never able to stream anything.
I hope you look in to it Dicky because its open now the 2.+ FW’s, at least what i heard.
ps. (what mode does pimpstreamer need (kernel-mode or usermode) if its the first it would be 2bad for 2.+ users.
Anyway keep up the good work, i love this program even tho it wont work for me. the idea is wonderfull.
Darn i need to downgrade…
September 11th, 2006 at 10:08 pm
Anyone know why they dont connect on my PC ? he use another ip adress than my ip on .ini x.x
September 12th, 2006 at 1:20 am
Nice work again, installer works fine. I’d like to see these in future updates:
- Feed tems ordered by date (latest on top)
- downloading/downloaded indicator always visible (not at the end of the line)
- screen update when download is finished
- automatic download of latest feed items
- quickboot option (skip start screens)
- customisable background color
- forward/rewind when playing
September 12th, 2006 at 10:22 am
Is there a OSX version planned also? Would be cool if the computer continued encoding the movie when pause is toggled, maybe the lags would go away?
September 12th, 2006 at 12:23 pm
Im having the same probs as Giovanni, mine also freezes on pink screen unless i have media in my “video” folder on my psp… then it doesnt freeze but it doesnt see my pc’s media ie video files on pc and doesnt refresh updated settings on psp. Questions: Pimpstreamer is using my pc ip addy must i use my routers ip? If i use my router i would imagine i must activate port forwarding in my router settings? Checked firewall is off incase it was blocking port 3333. Hmmm sheesh i dunno. mayb a format mem stick might fix the probs?
September 12th, 2006 at 7:17 pm
Nice release.
Solved the rss feeds duplicates problem nicely.
Couple of suggestions:
1. When a list (folder content or rss feed content) get’s long, it’s hard to move out of it (one has to move up the whole list untill the [..] to get back at the previous level).
It would be nice to be able to move/browse back to the previous level at the push of a button (IRSHELL and some others use triangle for this, maybe you could do the same and use “Start” or “Left+Start” to exit the app ? (seems to become kind of a standard)).
2. When selecting an item in a rss feed to be downloaded, would it be possible to leave the cursor at it’s position in the list ?
(at present, the cursor is return to the top of the list, so one has to scroll down to the previous position before being able to select an other item for download
3. When entering a folder, the only way to return to the rss list is to move up all the way to the root before the rss feeds are shown again.
Ex.
I’m entering c:\psp\apps\pimpstreamer\pimp074\movies
in order to get back to the rss list, I have to move up to
c:\psp\apps\pimpstreamer\pimp074\
then
c:\psp\apps\pimpstreamer\
then
c:\psp\apps\
c:\psp\
c:\
and only now when I move up one level do I get the rss list back
4.
And one more suggestion, could you add the [downloaded] / [downloading] tag at the BEGINING of the podcast name instead of the end ?
In case of long podcast names, that tag is NOT visible (as it’s at the very far right of the podcast name).
And maybe shorten the tags name (to something like [D] for downloading and [OK] once it’s downloaded.
5.
Some streems don’t seem to be supported, like
rssfeed_24=http://xml.tsr.ch/xml/index.xml?siteSect=672000&programId=25
It’s supposed to be a videopodcast, it does show up in PSS (not broken), but there’s no feed inside.
PS: Feed(s) listed at: http://www.tsr.ch/tsr/index.html?siteSect=670000
Also, none of these are considere valid:
rssfeed_36=http://www.mobuzztv.com/rss/uk_index.xml
rssfeed_37=http://feeds.feedburner.com/mobuzztv-uk-qt7
rssfeed_38=http://www.podcheck.com/blogs/weekly_review/rss.aspx
rssfeed_40=http://www.mobuzztv.com/uk/rss/windows
rssfeed_41=http://www.mobuzztv.com/uk/rss/psp
rssfeed_42=http://www.mobuzztv.com/uk/rss/mobile
rssfeed_43=http://www.mobuzztv.com/uk/rss/quicktime
(all show up as broken)
Any idea why ?
Any why to circumvent that ?
Really nice app, I’m enjoying it
Keep up the good work !
September 12th, 2006 at 8:00 pm
connection state 2 of 4 ….nothing happens
September 12th, 2006 at 8:12 pm
I just want to say thank you for your work, PiMPStreamer is one of the best homebrew apps out there in my opinion. I do have a question/request though. I understand that PiMPStreamer will stream over a LAN, but have you ever tried streaming video over the internet, by setting the IP address of the router and using port forwarding to connect to the host PC? I’ve tried adding my IP address to the config file, and set up port 3333 to forward to my desktop, but I’m not sure if this will work and I don’t quite have access to another wireless network in my area, but I’d like to be able to use your program while I’m traveling.
Thanks!
September 12th, 2006 at 9:34 pm
Mine freezes to. Checked IP, and I got 1.5 ofc.
Formated MS several times, and reinstalled, but no luck.
Wont give up yet, but any sugggestions would be awsome!
Cool looking program! GJ!
September 13th, 2006 at 12:38 am

September 13th, 2006 at 1:45 am

September 13th, 2006 at 4:14 am
Please support subtitle !!!!
September 13th, 2006 at 5:30 am
Do you have to have fireware 1.5 for this to work?
September 13th, 2006 at 5:30 pm
@ castleman ..
subtitle is supported
September 14th, 2006 at 7:19 pm
DickyDick, good news! I tried my whole internet streaming idea that I posted about above, and it works! I set up the port forwarding on my router, entered in my IP address manually in the pmp.ini folder, and voila, I was streaming media! There was only one problem though, since PiMPStreamer was streaming via internet, my videos and music would not play smoothly, and would be very choppy. I know that RuDe DuDe had said something about creating a buffer when streaming, and I feel that it would also help out in this situation as well! I unfortunately don’t have any coding experience, otherwise I might be able to lend a hand in coming up with an idea. Maybe some kind of buffer, similar to the RSS downloading, could work? I’d think that depending on the video, around 20 seconds or so of buffer would work, or even something where when you pause the video, the stream would make an even larger buffer.
I’m not sure if the whole buffer idea is possible, but it would definitely be a nice add to your already awesome program.
On another note, I keep getting broken RSS/XML links. I’ve tried around 30 different links from vodcasts.tv, and I’m not sure if I’m doing it wrong or not, but nothing seems to work. I’ve downloaded the microsoft fix you had listed, but it still doesn’t seem to work. Anything else I might be doing wrong?
Thanks!
September 14th, 2006 at 11:06 pm
2. When selecting an item in a rss feed to be downloaded, would it be possible to leave the cursor at it’s position in the list ?
(at present, the cursor is return to the top of the list, so one has to scroll down to the previous position before being able to select an other item for download
*** I need to correct above statement ***
Cursor DOES remain at it’s position when IN a rss feed.
The problem occurs when leaving some rss feed.
The cursor doesn’t remain on the current rss feed in the list, but goes back to the top of the (rss feed) list.
Hence one has to scroll down again to enter the next rss feed …

Woot! Awesome tool - this is exactly what I’ve been yearning for. No need to re-encode all of my movies, just plug and play.
Nice work!

debug=0
pimpserver_1 = 192.168.0.2:3333;
September 18th, 2006 at 12:01 am
@Izek
It doesn’t work on v2.8 firmware…only 1.5
September 18th, 2006 at 2:08 pm
@Izek: You’re aware pimpstreamer, like most homebrew, only works on 1.5 right ?
September 18th, 2006 at 7:40 pm
It works on any *.avi file?,
its seems better than LocationFree…
Im going to try the version 0.73 and 074. it if my girlfriend like the performance, the i could use % of the savings for the LocationFree, to something better, like your work…
keep talkin’.
keep streamin’.
September 19th, 2006 at 11:23 pm
Works great but doesn’t seem to play things as smoothly as the older versions
September 22nd, 2006 at 9:07 am
Hi DickyDicky. This does not work on 0.99 GTA(UK) Exlploit Eloader with a TA-082 2.6 firmware but 0.62 does work for my PSP(TA-082, 2.6).
Is there anyway I can download the source files and make a compatible version? I’ve downloaded the source files for pmpmod2.01-pimped-fw15-fw2.tar.gz and the source files for pimpstreamer-src-0.74.tar.gz.
I really would like to help in compiling a working version for 2.x psps but I kinda need some help.
Thanks and regards

Hi,
After finally going through all the necessary requirements to get this running (unlocking firewall ports, router ports etc), i finally got this running, and i have to say, I am very impressed.
However (and I dont know if its just me), but it takes forever to connect.
It goes through the connection state 0 of 4, 2 of 4 and then to 3 of 4 very quickly, but can then take as long as 3-5 minutes before it finally connects.
I was just wondering what the cause may be, and what is actually happening in those various connection states.
Thanks in advance for any info anyone can provide
September 24th, 2006 at 1:27 pm
Tried the installer, and everything went as planned (had to change PSP to be the “I” drive - no biggie). When I try to get it going, the PSP just says “the WIFI switch is off”….over & over. Plz help
September 25th, 2006 at 5:01 am
Hey Baldric Have you tried turning your WEP off I’ve been reading about this slowing things down. Could you also please post a exact step by step process of how you got this working. I mean router alterations and everything, Pleeeease. I am still having trouble getting this working I keep getting “Current Stream Directory : ” ” ” could you please help me set this up? And then I can post this around for other users?
Hoping in Advance!
September 26th, 2006 at 1:34 pm
BEST SHITZ EVER!! if i were 18 i would donate and my cheap arse parents wont lOL. thanx a tonn man. best streamer i have ever come across..o wait its the only one but its still great KUDOS TO U
September 27th, 2006 at 10:12 am
I had problems getting a connection to the PimpStreamer server, so I had a look with WhatsRunning [good freeware tool: http://www.whatsrunning.net].
For some reason, the server was listening on port 56, not 3333. I change the PSP’s ini entry from pimpserver_1 = x.x.x.x:3333 to pimpserver_1 = x.x.x.x:56 and all now works fine.
Might fix a few of the Crew’s problems: Nin, BTM, Fast240Z, etc
Hey DickyDick - Nice. Keep up the great work.
September 29th, 2006 at 4:25 pm
Hi I have a question whats the version of PMP thats supported in Pimpstreamer 0.74? I converted the files using Xvid4Psp into PMP 2.01 profile and Pimpstreamer 0.74 wouldn’t play them. I get some not a valid pmp file error.
Also do subtitles work on streaming? And what program should I use to convert the srt files into SUB format.
Thanks. Previously before the devhook 2.71 for TA-082 psps came out I was using Pimpstreamer 0.62 so I didn’t have any experience with the subtitle files.
September 30th, 2006 at 9:19 am
Fantastic piece of software. I had trouble getting it set up until I read on a forum that a guy had needed to re-establish his network connection. So I did that…and… utterly brilliant. It’s so cool to be able to lie in bed and watch movies on my psp. I’m going to see if I can get the windvr function working. Which would be great as well. Any chance that in a future release you could get PimpStreamer to check if a network connection is established and, if not, set one up? Genius of a program.
February 8th, 2007 at 2:33 am
