Playing MP3, play/pause/setvolume
Hi for all the flv-streaming users out there a little update….
Now with MP3 support, run any MP3 from your PC to your Wii or PS3.. And set volume, play/pause was added….just click on the little hat to activate it.
Ps. the Wii Flash implementation still sux…
Download PiMPStreamerSetup-0.83.msi, PiMPStreamer-0.83.zip.
Remember for PSP users, use the PSP binaries. Not the browsable FLV streamer.

March 27th, 2007 at 8:15 pm

March 27th, 2007 at 8:29 pm
would you add a shut button, which can shut down the pc remotely, into the PSP-end homebrew.
I think this would be a handy function…^_^
March 27th, 2007 at 8:46 pm
please add wpa support. thank you very much!
March 27th, 2007 at 8:58 pm
anyone else having issues with the server? cant get either pc or ps3 to bring it up
March 27th, 2007 at 9:03 pm
Nice! As always, oh and i have one suggestion why dont you add a clock because i lose track of time when watching all those movies on my PSP:D
March 27th, 2007 at 9:38 pm
Do you have tips to stop the audio going out of sync? I know how to resync the audio, but it happens so often and it’s a pain to resynchronise it all the time.
PiMPStreamer + MythTV = AMAZING
March 27th, 2007 at 10:44 pm
Hey, I just love pimpstreamer, prolly one of the best homebrews for the PSP
However, I was wondering… maybe it could be possible for example to add like an access password to the stream… And well, wpa support would be nice…
March 27th, 2007 at 11:47 pm
I wish .m3u support, please
March 28th, 2007 at 2:42 am
For those who don’t know, PSP VLC has wpa support now. Although pimpstreamer wpa support would be freaking sweet.
Maybe you guys could work together?
March 28th, 2007 at 3:32 am
Still no Linux support?
March 28th, 2007 at 5:12 am
I would love if there would be a battery indicator and a clock available for the psp. It’s impossible to tell how much battery life is left and usually my psp just ends up dying mid-way through a movie.
March 28th, 2007 at 6:04 am
Is it typical for the software to stop responding if it sits for too long in the menu not playing a movie? I always end up having to reboot.
March 28th, 2007 at 8:31 am
Love to work together with jocky (the PMP VLC dude), if he managed to get it running under WPA.. !! But I did not see any announcements regarding a WPA version…

Hello DickyDick1969,
I’ve tried the latest version 0.83 and still having my “freeze at 10 mins of streaming” issues. Do you have any clues about this ?
March 28th, 2007 at 11:50 am
Dicky he has released them in his thread here:

I hope it can support .rmvb and .rm (^^)

Pimpstreamer works fine for me, BUT today Pimp server started to crash unexpectedly.
I managed to track it down to one specific rss feed (content of which must have changed from yesterday to today): rssfeed_32=http://www.tf1.fr/xml/rss/0,,88,00.xml
I understand this is not your “fault” …
Any idea on what causes pimp server to crash ?!?
This hapens both in 0.81 and 0.83
TIA

Unable to use with 3.10 Oe-a’ version. Too bad. Really good program. Any other way to use on 3.10??
March 28th, 2007 at 6:05 pm
I run 3.10 OE A and I can use pimpstreamer. What problems are you experiencing?
March 28th, 2007 at 7:41 pm
I upgraded to 0.83 and now when i select the windoze pimpstreamer server my options have changed. It used to be 192.168.1.100:3333 and now it is 192.168.1.41:3333 what gives? and how do i change it?
March 28th, 2007 at 11:37 pm
I noticed the problem with invalid windoze server listings. You need to manually go into your PSP, into the “PSP\GAME150\PIMPSTREAMER201SUB” folder, and edit the “pmp.ini” to include your computers IP address, and any other computer you may run the pimp streamer server on.
March 28th, 2007 at 11:39 pm
I also noticed another bug where the last listing item in trunicated on the PSP, but not on the wii or the 360, so i assume its a bug in the psp binarie.
March 29th, 2007 at 6:08 am
I installed today. However, when I launch app from PSP (3.1) I get a corrupt game error…?
March 29th, 2007 at 6:49 pm
PLEASE! Mac support! Anything for OS X support.
March 29th, 2007 at 6:52 pm
Thanks theModman finally to get it working. What is the best setting to view avi, flv or other video format?
March 30th, 2007 at 12:17 pm
please enable the display to turn off automatically when streaming only audio. this would save battery.
the other thing that bothers me is that some particular mp3-files get an “packet_stream_failed” at the end. it is always happening with the same files. i cannot put them into playlist, because the error occurs before the next track should play.
i realized that the progress bar inside pimpstreamer server is still somewhere in the middle, although the song is already finished.
do you have a solution for this? i could send you a track which is causing this, so that you can have a look what is going on. please let me know.
thanks and best regards, o.

I get the following error when I run the installer (just clicking “Next” without changing options):
Error writing to file: msxml4.dll. Verify that you have access to that directory.
I’m not out of hard drive space, and I’m an administrator — what gives?

MAC OS X!!!!!!!!
Please, please, please,please,please,please,please,please,please,please…
April 7th, 2007 at 4:57 am
Heh, fixed my problem, kind of — I thought the ZIP file was just the PSP binaries. I had already downloaded it — I just extracted it and have PS up and running now. Only problem… most of my TV shows are hosted on my MythTV box, which is obviously a network share. The “Browse” button for “Media Paths” lets you pick items under Network Neighborhood, and they show up as “\\\share\dir” but when you browse to them under the FLV (I’m just using the host PC’s browser pointed at localhost:3333), the directory appears empty, even though the exact same UNC path pasted into “Run” lists the (non-empty) directory in Explorer.
UPDATE: I just mapped the share to a network drive, and that seems to work. Worth a shot, for those having probs.
April 7th, 2007 at 2:43 pm
So I have installed the latest pimpstreamer onto my pc and 3.03 OE-C.
I have no firewall running, when I run pimpstreamer on my psp, its asks for configuration, i select the only option, the the server, the only option, then, do i want to test connection, weather I hit yes or no it just sayas, connection state 0 of 4,
connection state 2 of 4 and hangs here. I can browse the net fine and signal is excellent. Any ideas please ? Is this a school boy error on my part ?
April 8th, 2007 at 2:58 am
@ Bertisdon -
try making a new network connection on the psp: write down the IP and DNS settings from your default connection that you know works, make a new connection but instead of doing it all automatically, enter the IP/DNS things yourself. save it as a different name, and try connecting with that one instead.
took me ages to work it out but if remember correctly that’s all i needed to do in the end. hope that helps
April 10th, 2007 at 11:26 pm
it wont connect…i have 3.10OEA2 and it wont connect to stream server on my computer pfff i did setup well???
April 11th, 2007 at 3:59 am

April 12th, 2007 at 9:24 pm
It’d be nice to see a full screen hi-resolution wii pimpstreamer. p
April 30th, 2007 at 9:52 pm
I can get pimpstreamer to work on my PSP but I haven’t really figured out how to get it to work on my PS3. Do I have to install anything on PS3? Do I have to use remote play on psp for this to work on PS3? or what. I think I’m suppose to change an IP somewhere on the PS3 (to PC IP) it says on the PS3 browser does this mean in the system settings or what? Any help would really be appreciated
