Flv streamer update, full Wii playback
Now that WPA was tackled (if you downgrade to 3.10
)
The FLV streamer side needed an update. No changes in the PSP binaries
1. No more pimpy color borders. Movie will always try to go full screen.
2. Full length flv playback on Wii. Tested with some long movies
3. Better UI while playing (click on movie). Adjust volume and play/pause. Tested on Wii.
To start a new movie, refresh the page.
Remember to use it on the Wii or PS3, you enter your PC address with port 3333 in the internel web browser.
Download PiMPStreamerSetup-0.91.msi

I was just wondering how long it might take to fix the 3.40 problem. you know just a general idea
May 10th, 2007 at 6:11 am
awsome, thanks for the update. it works for me, though WS shows are squished to 4:3 ratio, though i’m playing it on a 4:3 tv… for now. if i change the aspect ratio on it, will it play 4:3 shows wide then? does it stream the same way it does to the psp? because it seems to have a buffer which makes for smooth video/sound in the rough parts but hangs up for a second or two before, which i think i would prefer than having it running slow throughout the whole action scene. either or, great work.
May 10th, 2007 at 6:40 am
@ drakecake the 3.40 problem will take a while.. depends on how many missing kernel function needs to be crafted “by hand”
May 10th, 2007 at 10:06 am
i think that i have found a bug in the flv streamer when the folder that you are streaming has an too large name the folder appears as empty
May 10th, 2007 at 11:45 am
Hi.
This is looking really good. Any suggestions I get audio/video sync on my Wii?
May 10th, 2007 at 12:18 pm
What was the problem with the WII not being able to stream full length movies???
May 10th, 2007 at 6:41 pm
ok thanks for the update. I’m looking forward to it.
May 10th, 2007 at 8:06 pm

Hello dickydick.
I’m working on a flv player for WII but I have the memory full problem.
I would like to know how you have to resolve this problem ?!
Thanks.

Awesome job on this mate. By far my favourite and most used app on my PSP. Good luck with getting the 3.40 version working.
May 11th, 2007 at 9:41 am
THANK YOU!! In the name of the PSP an PS3 people.
PSP work flawless, but the PS3 has some glitches. The hide add button does not work, i cannot go back to the selection screen without going loading other page first. Maibe you can look into it with the features releases.
Thank’s Again
May 11th, 2007 at 8:27 pm
Wow thanks for this awesome update, this is the first time i used it on my wii and i think its amazing, but just how long was the video u used for the wii? And also i would like to play RM files ive tried adding it to the config file but everytime i go back onto it its gone again, any help?
May 11th, 2007 at 11:24 pm
Thanks! This app is amazing! I’m not sure if you already do this, but it would be awesome if Pimpstreamer cached part of the video on the PC before it sends it to the PSP, some videos play perfectly for me, others stall sometimes during playback, so if a portion of the video is cached it should ensure continuous playback. Though it’s probably just my slow computer causing this.
May 11th, 2007 at 11:28 pm
Oh by video in my previous comment, i meant to say the video encoded to play back on the psp, not the original video. Thanks again!
May 12th, 2007 at 10:15 am
by the way the rss support on pimpstreamer isnt working. ive checked youtube rss and no links are listed on the psp- just dir.. hope you can fix it. love your program.
May 12th, 2007 at 7:51 pm
Hi there what is the exact problem with firmware 3.40? Missing som modules or what? Just wanna know so we can find a solution for this great program!
May 12th, 2007 at 9:25 pm
Hmm sorry for the (maybe) dumb question but i need to know how i can get my streaming to work perfectly…
because at the moment the stream isnt realtime~it’s stuttering…
any ideas?…i’ve got a machine better than the 1700 AMD
May 12th, 2007 at 11:44 pm
rYu, you’re problem might be…
wireless router is broken or youre too far from your wireless router.
your pc cant handle pimpstreamer thats why it skipps when u play a file, pc cant handle it. needs more memory.
anyone using rss support (youtube)..? is it working because im having problem. the links on the psp (pimpstreamer) doesnt show up after u play the rss. but the link off pc (pimpstreamer) are visible. anyone having this problem. love to watch anime on you tube.
May 14th, 2007 at 5:57 am
rYu, it’s worth playing with the video and audio bitrate setup on pimpstreamer (press select on the menu). Start low and work your way up until you get something that works well. I have video set to 700 and 192k audio. Works perfectly on everything!
May 14th, 2007 at 10:32 pm
The streamer works great on my Wii. However, is there supposed to be a pink border when playing a file?
I click the ‘close ads’ link and it makes the movie screen a bit bigger.
I would like to play in full screen if possible!
Is there anything special I have to do?
May 14th, 2007 at 11:52 pm
yea i started at 500 video 128k audio…it still stutters a little at the beginnin…dunno why… you do mean the FFMPEG options yea? ^^ok…
i’ll try it on my proper PC later…maybe it’s really just hardware related…altho i dont really think so atm…
and i’m usin a WLAN USB stick…maybe thats the problem…from my 16 Mbit i only get about 4.5 onto the wii…but that shudnt be the problem either cuz network is a lot faste anyways..
it’s quite weird…i hate solution searching… help? ^^
ty already tho…greetz~
May 15th, 2007 at 1:13 am
i believe the + and - button on the wiimote zooms in and zooms out, so try using those buttons to get the right screen size.
May 15th, 2007 at 6:45 am
When I zoom in too much the video disappears entirely and I’m left with a totally pink screen!
While that is *pretty* pimped out. It’s not exactly what I’m goin’ for.
Suggestions?
May 16th, 2007 at 1:14 am
Hello, i have firmware 3.10 OE-A and wanted to use the newest version of pimpstream. However, if I start the program i get the following message:
Could not load PSP_NET_MODULE_Common
What did I do wrong?
May 16th, 2007 at 5:19 pm
i think the psp net module error is because of running on the wrong kernel.
May 20th, 2007 at 9:10 pm
My videos are lagging too… it doesn’t get stuck, but the framerate is slow. Maybe it’s a resolution issue?
May 22nd, 2007 at 9:11 am
i’m running 3.10 oe and am unable to seek in the video or stop playbacl and resume. playback will start up for a little bit, but with audio out of sync and it will stop after a few seconds. anyone else having this issue?
May 23rd, 2007 at 2:32 pm
Hello, I have loosed two days trying everything I have read in whole site in order to succeed the Pimpstream to show the subtitles without success. The video/audio is streaming good. My firmware is 3.10 OE-A.
I have tried 0.90, 0.91, SUB versions in all PSP dirs. Any ideas or guide except all info from this site ?
May 24th, 2007 at 11:57 pm
Try to rename the subtitle to the movie name with the extension included. Example: If your movie is called “movie.avi”, then the sub must be renamed to “movie.avi.sub”
May 27th, 2007 at 2:14 am
when i tried to watch a movie about 1 hour into i got an error code saying not enough memory or something. Any suggestions? Great app though.
May 27th, 2007 at 2:15 am
i was watching it on my wii
June 1st, 2007 at 7:21 pm
It might be impossible, but can we have a delete feature?
Thank you for giving life to psp’s
Regards
June 2nd, 2007 at 7:34 am
The wii video playback has improved, but we still don’t have a real full screen playback yet. Hopefully it’ll get here eventually. Still a great app.
June 2nd, 2007 at 12:48 pm
Sadly, this application is still not able to run under 3.40 firmware.
June 6th, 2007 at 11:03 pm

July 17th, 2007 at 10:52 pm
Is there any way for the streamer to play external subtitles?
July 18th, 2007 at 8:48 am
Zzzzzzzzzzzzz 2 months and counting… Are we ever going to see a fix for this for 3.40 OE/higher?
July 28th, 2007 at 12:27 pm
Spent too much time on other shits that nobody really care about. I think he should release the source & let others to fix it.
July 29th, 2007 at 9:00 am
I’m currently running 3.40 OE and i was having a problem with pimpstreamer. But I found out that you can use it through IRshell. Made me a happy man
July 29th, 2007 at 9:09 am
Actually what you have to do is restart IRshell under the 1.50 shell and it works just fine.
August 1st, 2007 at 5:37 am
Yeah, release of the source would be nice… nearly 3 months w/o a fix is pretty lame. But I guess PSP Chess is somehow very important.
August 1st, 2007 at 12:31 pm
Hi there
Very much appreciate your app and use it on a regular basis.
Any chance you’ll release a working 3.x version ?
Now that IRS 3.6 has been released, this would be very much appreciated !
(in order to run it under the 3.x kernel)
Also, there’s still that annoying bug, that if you leave the client on the feed list without doing any thing for a while, it clears the list and crashes the server.
(Server has to be stoped and restarted in order to work again).
Other than this I really enjoy it.
Also, wii playback is a must
tx, and keep up the good work !
August 5th, 2007 at 7:25 pm
Works fine on 3.52 M33 (put in game 150 folder)
August 17th, 2007 at 1:32 am
At the risk of sounding like a completly idiot , is it possible to basicly devote a comp with a large hard drive and run the pimpstream server off it, then connect to it with other computers and stuff from what i hear it seems to work on the wii so it should work on a computer right? also a shuffle playback would be awsome, no rush thoe you have done an amazing job at psp homebrew already, thanks
August 17th, 2007 at 1:33 am

August 17th, 2007 at 3:25 am
ok well nvm the comments but i got it to work so i can stream it to computers outside of my lan, the ip it wants is your lan ip not your actual ip so i made some tcp doo hickey on my router and called it pimp stream and had it work with port 3333 and then i took my real ip added :3333 to the end and bammo it worked out of my lan, ps i know i sound like a complete idiot but i kinda am and i probably accidently got it to work, but i incorage someone else to try it to see if i am a complete idiot
August 24th, 2007 at 5:41 am
it seems after using this my psp wont connect to the internet and i have check the secruity settings, the only way i could fix it was buy flashing the psp then it did it again ): do i have a crappy psp or is it a bug? or am i just retarded?
August 26th, 2007 at 4:04 pm
After applying latest “security” patches to my XP Pro SP2, pimpstreamer (0.91) complains that it encountered a “buffer overflow”:
M$ Virtual C++ Runtime library
Buffer overrun detected!
Program: …pimpstreamer.exe
A buffer overrun has been detected which has corrupted the program’s internal state. The program cannot safely continue execution and must now be terminated.
Anybody else experiencing this ?
And any way around it ?
It worked just fine before the updates …
September 22nd, 2007 at 11:00 pm
I too have buffer overun issue
October 20th, 2007 at 2:25 pm
i’m having buffer over run problem too. Windows xp Sp2 latest updates.. latest patch.. any fix yet ?
