After I gathered most of the requests from the forum, I began working on a 3.xx only full graphical version of PiMPStreamer.
This time from the ground up, without any heavy ffmpeg libs to carry with.

Download the pimpstreamer-beta-1.0. Tested on 3.52 M33-4.
-not based on pmp_mod, uses mp3 hardware decoding and plain software decoding (no me.prx needed)
-completely from ground up
-color info not right yet, need to implement yuv->rgb
-fully graphical
-a beta, not all functions yet ported
-when in movie no stopping yet (test with small movies)
-sound still skippy
put in PSP/GAME folder (not GAME150)

I have just moved house and the walls and floors are reinforced with metal, That means i am having real problems walking from room to room and keeping a good wifi signal, i tried a repeater (sitecom WL-130)but the signal is still not good enough, anyone have the same problem and fixed it?

Visual feedback on settings such as volume/audio delay would be nice. A way to skip forward/back while the video is playing would be a good feature, but not necessary. The biggest problem I have is with fast motion (action based) content, though I don’t know if that a bandwidth constraint or a limitation of the encoder.

In the new version of PiMPStreamer there will be support for WPA? Most people have problem because use WPA encryption and not WEP…

I think many peoples can’t switch from WPA to WEP, so WPA support in PiMPStreamer would be very interesting and usefull, IMHO… Today many WLAN are protected with WPA encryption because it’s more secure than WEP. I hope that future versions of PiMPStreamer will support WPA.

Pimpstreamer doesn’t work on the 3.71-M33 (slim or fat) because it uses 1.5 kernel which is not supported on this custom firmware
it works only on OE’s firmwares or 1.5
so dickydick is right!

Oh and the 1.5 kernel patch for 3.71 m33 (fat) is out. Pimpstreamer should work on “FAT” now.

Nice job with the beta.
Red/black colors only, and no sound, on movies playing.
Streaming audio works fine.
Pictures works.
It is not possible to change picture or stop a video when it runs.
No scrolling options or fast speed or anyting…
But streaming now works perfectly!
im running 3.71 m33-2 with 1.50 v2 patch.

Hi, I love this software.
I would ask if in newer version you can add the possibility of screen shutdown when play mp3/music.
The battery life is important and left open the lcd is annoyng for some people.
Ah I’ve remember that in actual version the “Home” key is disabled.
Can you make it as other software? To quit from Pimpstreamer…

VERY nice release !
Here are some bugs/issues I noticed with pimpstreamer (pmps), you’re probably aware of most of them, I’ll repeat them just in case:
- When selecting a feed item that has not yet been downloaded, I get a stream error, or sometimes pmps simply hangs. The rss item’s download IS correctly triggered anyway.
- “Start” doesn’t refresh the download status.
- Once the stream started, no way to interact with it (stop, pause, … are not yet implemented).
- If not possible to connect to server (wrong ip, …), pmps keeps issuing “error connection to host” and it’s not possible to exit it.
- displaying the host and client ip’s is nice during test phase, but I hope you’ll remove that intermediate step later on ? And display the ip’s somewhere in the pmps window …

I’ve been hoping for this for a long time
- If I indicate my public dyndns name, pmps correctly resolves it to my public ip, yet I couldn’t connect (I may have some fw issues here …).

I DOES work using dhcp, NOT using fixed ip !
- Currently, if I indicate a host name instead of ip in config.txt, pmps hangs after “connecting to the net” (no message what so ever, I guess this requires wins resolution, but at least it should not hang …).

Woot! Finally an update! Pimpstreamer is one of my most fav homebrew ever! Cant wait till this beta gets working properly! Also a small issue i had with the old pimpstreamer, whenever i played avi files from datebayo it would always hang in the 1st 10 mins (connection wasnt the problem) I dunno if its the avi files or some bug, but i’d love it if u fix it. also a request, could u add ogg and mkv support? And ability to switch between the audio in dual audio movies and turn off/on subs would also be great!
